HI
Can we declare and use a VSAM KSDS in a cobol subroutine?
I passed the VSAM file to the calling program in JCL, but im unable to open/read that file in the subroutine?

Please help

...YES you can.
What is the error that you are facing while opening the file.Post your JCL ,FD and Select entries of your Program.I hope you are pointing to the correct DD names.

Review the EXTERNAL attribute in the applicable COBOL Language Reference and Programming Guide.
