Hi,
I have experience in mainframe COBOL. But i have no idea about MF COBOL.Can anyone explain me how the MF COBOL runs in Linux enviornment. Also please see the below questions;
1. Both the coding syntax of COBOL and Microfocus COBOL same?
2. How MF COBOL can be executed in Linux environment? Using JCL?
3. What is the role of Microfocus server?
4. I have already good experience in COBOL, do i need to read Microfocus COBOL again?
5. I have referred the site Microfocus.com. Is there any other site from where i can refer about MF COBOL and it is execution?
Thanks,

Hello,
1. basically yes, with particular differences in file and terminal access.
2. which linux environment. . .?
3. best info is available from microfocus.
4. whoever is in charge of the conversion/migration should have some kind of plan as to what parts of microfocus cobol are not the same as what is already in the application to be ported.
5. the best site for microfocus info is the microfocus site. |
