Hello ever body,
I wanted to know what is the usual charges that our programs/Jobs will take.I come to know that it is dependant.
At some places it is calculated based on the multiplication of (CPU unnormalised time*CPU normalization factor*Cost per each CPU normalization factor), but some one else says that it is calculated based on the TCB.
Also please tell me what is the average price of the CPU normalization factor?
Thanks allot in advance.. |

Everything that you want to know is site specific. Each site, if it has any, will have its own chargeback parameters.
Best go talk to your performance / capacity / accounting people. |

Hi expat,
Thanks for the reply. When you say site specific does it mean that the Work environment/Mainframe environment the job runs under?? |

Every site has different parameters used for chargeback, or accounting.
The size of the CPU can affect the results, the license agreement may affect the results, whether or not you charge for DASD and tape usage may affect the results, are channel utilisations factored into the results, printing, telecomms etc. etc.
If you have a group responsible for performance and capacity planning, they may know the exact information that you want because they code their charge algorithms according to what they are told to do.
Some shops I have been in charge only CPU, whilst other charge for absolutely everything. So, you need to know what your site charges for, is it cpu seconds, is it service units, is it ........... andhow much they charge for each unit measured. It varies from place to place so for accurate answers you need to know the background rules.
Sorry, but it really is a site specific question that can only be answered by the people responsible at your site. |
