Hi ,dear all
I merge two files into one output usting DFSORT
sort card is below:
MERGE FIELDS=(52,10,CH,D)
The RC is 16 from DFSORT and says as below:
ICE084I 0 EXCP ACCESS METHOD USED FOR SORTOUT
ICE084I 0 EXCP ACCESS METHOD USED FOR SORTIN01
ICE084I 0 EXCP ACCESS METHOD USED FOR SORTIN02
ICE068A 0 OUT OF SEQUENCE SORTIN02
ICE751I 1 DC-K10929 DD-Q95174 E8-K19114
ICE052I 0 END OF DFSORT
Does anybody ever abends like this ? thanks a lot [/b][/code] |

no....
I do not usually get abends on merge because I make sure that the files
to be merged are in the proper sequence
that' s the preamble for merge applications
solution/recommendation... ( repeat on )
make sure that the files to be merged are in the proper sequence |

Yes, everyone who has input records that are NOT sorted in the correct order gets the ICE068A error message for a MERGE application.
The ICE068A message indicates that the records in SORTIN02 are not in sorted order by 52,10,CH,D. You need to sort the SORTIN02 data set by 52,10,CH,D before you can merge it by 52,10,CH,D. |

I also ask my colleague and his answer is like yours.
The merge run successfully with sort inputs firstly. |
