Why do they give CBL TRUNC(OPT),DIAGTRUNC as the first line in All Cobol programes.

Hello,

They don't. . . None of our compile job have those exact specifications.

The first line that begins with CBL specifies compiler options. Look here for more info: http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr_OS390/handheld/Connected/BOOKS/igy3pg20/2.4?

There is much more to learn moving around from that point n the manual (which is availab le via the "IBM Manuals" link at the top of the page.
