We have a GDG that has a new genertion added every day and we keep about 255 generations of it.Some time in the next 10-15 days we have a need to concatenate all generations that were created in 2009 and then run it thru a special job instead of the daily job.

The question here is if there is any way to identify the generations created in 2009 without manual intervention.

Is there any technique in jcl to identity and concatenate only generations created in 2009.

Unfortunately not. ISMF or IDCAMS LISTCAT will get you the creation dates, then you will need to concatenate manually.
