hi,

FILE-CONTROL.
SELECT COMPANY-IN ASSIGN TO UT-S-COMPANY.
SELECT MFS-RCV-IN ASSIGN TO UT-S-MFSRCV.

Please let me know the significance/meaning of UT-S- usage in the above File control statements

they are old conventions.

UT- UTILITY USED FOR TAPE ETC.
DA- USED FOR DASD

S- FOR SEQUENTIAL ACCESS
I/R/D- FOR RANDOM ACCESS
