How to free up unused space

Is there any way we can free up unused space? Will it be possible to free up unused space for all files starting with abcd.*

Yes, it is possible.

The best approach is to talk to the storage people as this can be fully automated by DFsms / DFhsm.

Other ways - DFdss works quite well.
