I am not aware of a "storage group" option on a 3270. . . If you use tso/ispf 3.4 you can see free space on a volume.

Suggest you talk with your storage management admins as they will be able to provide exactly what you are looking for. |

This is almost as good as asking "How high is up?" Allocation policies are determined by various policies (such as high level qualifier, use of PROD vs TEST, etc) and the different pools might have radically different amounts of free space. The PROD pool having 250 GB of free space does you absolutely no good if you're allocating a TEST pool dataset for which there is no free space. Your storage management admins are the only ones who could possibly help you with a request like this. |

I haven't seen too many shops where anyone but a storage management team member would have access to ISMF (or TLMS for that matter). |

The ISMF screens have two modes, Administrator and End-User. The End-User only sees a subset of options on the menu. If you're able, you can use Option 0.0 and make yourself an Administrator. |
