When you say "the spool", what do you mean?

Again, do you mean JES' spool? The spool dataset itself?

If you have SDSF or an equivalent product, these tasks are pretty easy.

My system has a 'JOBPURGR' program. It issues a $CJxxxx command (I think). And when used as the last job step and in conjunction with job return codes, you can invoke JOBPURGR to delete the job and all its output if the job completed successfully. Sorry, I do not have the source.
Perhaps you can write something similar in rexx for your own use. I think there are examples in the rexx forum for finding the job number. |
