could you please provide me basic syntax of REXX which reads the files from the JCL.

Your request is not clear.

Sort of guessing...
1. your JCL has DD statements that refer to datasets or other input sources.

2. your rexx should issue the EXECIO and refer to the DD names.

In addition to what Pedro had posted, Please refer to the manuals for the exact syntax of EXECIO.
