Are you looking for some material other than the IBM manuals and guides? |

Hello,

SINCE I AM NOT GETTING ENOUGH TIME TO GO THROUGH PAGES OF MANUALS DUE TO MY TIGHT SCHEDULES. |
Suggest you mention to your manager that this may not happen immediately because you do not yet know how to begin providing what is needed. Per:

Setting up the printer(s) is one task. Setting up a process to print a document is another. |

You need to explain what it is you are trying to print. It might be as simple as specifying something on a DD statement. |

Thanx for all your responses. My current contracting assignment is ending soon and my employer is finding me some other new assignment, which requires mainframes, jcl, cobol with AFP printing knowledge. I thought I might get some help from you on these forums. Please suggest. can I get some help on it? |

Hello,
You might try here:
publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/zos/v1r9/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.zos.r9.aopfa00/jclist.htm
Suggest you and your employer emphasize your mainframe strengths (cobol, jcl, utilities, etc?) and let this (afp printing) be the tail rather than the dog. . . In an environment that already does afp printing, you will find processes already in place and you will want to follow the standards they already have. Cloning existing processes goes quicker than starting from scratch.
Good luck and someone will be here if there are questions |

THANKS A LOT!! And so far I have been surviving in most of my contracts, by cloning existing process. |

Hi,
I've been working with AFP since quite time now, if you have something specific I may be of little help. I believe there should already be one one program at Your shop dealing with AFP, you can start from there as you say..
