Hi,
I am facing an issue these days. Even if the topic is read, still it appears unread. I tried refreshing the page; but no hope. I am not sure if this occurs particular to me. |

I've noticed the same thing -- sometimes the topic is resent to "read", sometimes it remains "unread". After it's been read, the topic itself changes from bold to normal font though. (I think)! |

Hello,
Many months ago some change was made to the way this is handled - it stopped working correctly back then.
What i've done to get around it is to work from the "recent topics" list which accurately reflects read/not read topics. . . This works ok for me as i'm involved with most parts of the forum, but if someone only wanted to watch 2 or 3 parts of the forum, this might not work so well for them |

Recent topics also does not seem to work. I always keep it open in one wnidow. But since the last couple of weeks, this is also not working. Were there any changes made recently? |

I just logged off and logged in again. Went to 'Recent topics', saw only the below 2 unread topics
ibmmainframes.com/viewtopic.php?t=36546
ibmmainframes.com/viewtopic.php?t=36513
I opened both in separate tabs and closed both after reading. Now if I refresh the "Recent topics", the first topic is still seen unread.
Even I doubt what I m thinking as "unread" is really "unread" or is it something else.

May be a cache problem. Try to Shift+Refresh(F5) the browser. If not works, clear the browser cache completely and try again. |

That only happens to me when someone posts a new reply while i have the topic open. So far, refresh on the "recent topics" list works correctly.
Yes, just now i opened the "Home" / index.php page and it shows many incorrect "unread" sections of the forum. This has been going on so long that i seldom go to this page. |

Logging out and back in (instead of logging in automatically) seems to reset my "View topics since last login" field. Guess I'll do that from now on. |

I just logged in using IE, waiting for somebody to make new posts. Seems like I'll have to help myself in this. |

Looks like I need not log out and back in each time -- a browser refresh (IE) solved the problem for me. |
