Hello,

The one that i'm aware of is from MicroFocus and runs on the Windows platform not the mainframe.

Is this the same one you are looking into?

Exactly.

But few more details would help me. I have worked only on mainframe environment and it would be great if you can throw light on this (COBOL on a windows env). ANy links would also be helpful.

Thanks a lot Dick.

Hi Aaru,

Try here:
www.microfocus.com/products/ServerExpress/index.asp

For several years my teams used MicroFocus COBOL on UNIX and for a short while on Windows. We were before "express" but the MicroFocus products we used were excellent.

Good luck icon_smile.gif

MicroFocus COBOL products are pretty good -- I've been involved with them at previous sites. Unfortunately, I don't have experience with the Server Express product.

I learned to use IMS and DB2 on Micfro focus. The stuff has lot of IDE to reduce development work. Especillay the screen design. You can just use your mouse to create the various sort of objects in the screen. I liked it. But it was weird to wirk in the actuall mainframe after getiing trained in the Micro focus.
