Hi all,
Is there a way to submit a job from mainframe (without using a scheduler) from windows, maybe by running a .bat file.

I am not sure if we can do this without a scheduler like CA11 etc. Actually a scheduler is not available for me always so I am trying to find if there are other options.

Log on to the system with a 3270 emulator and submit the job.

Superk's suggestion is the best method. I'm using FTP to submit jobs from my PC, and I also make use of Window's "Scheduled Tasks" option to submit these jobs, thus have my own scheduler :-)

ankitbahuguna, look at the "SITE" subcommand and the "FILETYPE" and "JES*" parameters.

There's also a whole section 4.13 Interfacing with JES that will give you the details.

FYI, for all those reading this topic, that is why it's always been suggested as the first option to investigate when looking to implement a scheduling solution for development/test systems.
