I have a file and I have to change the length of some fields and names of some fields in the file and create a new file with the help of Fileaid. Size changed from 9(4)V99 to 9(6)V99. How can I code a batch Fileaid job for this?

Hi,
When you say this
Quote: |

and provides only this
Quote: |
Size changed from 9(4)V99 to 9(6)V99 |
that seems to be half information - what about the name to be changed ?
Suggest you show some sample input & the expected output with the LRECL, RECFM and the position of the fields of interest. |

Which FileAid are you using. FileAid for DB2 is the only one I know of that has names pre-associated with the fields. If this is plain FileAid I would use menu option 9 "Reformat file" Batch. Give it the old include and the new include for the file and it will create the control cards for you. (I would change the field names after converting the file.) |
