Hi,

Can anyone please let me know how to use command code 'F'.

As per the logic, I need to issue Get next calls and get the count of a particulat root segment. If number of root segments > = 6, issue Get hold unique call for the first occurence of the root segment and delete it.

By the time I would have issued Get next calls i would be the last occurence of the root segment. But I need to delete the first occurence. Will I be ale to use 'F' command code in this scenario?

Thanks.

You do not use command codes to go after the root - it won't work. Just start at the beginning of the database with an unqualified SSA for your root. Do loop adding to your counter as long as your status code is blank. When GB, do not add - you are done.

Why do you need to delete the first root?
