Hi,

I need to create an output file with system date and time in the format yyyymmddhhmmss. The output file will be variable block of length 18.
This should be done using the sort facilities. I tried a few possibilities but couldn't finalize

Could you please help me this case?

Thanks and regards
Renjith

Here's a DFSORT job that will do what you asked for:

Code:

//S1    EXEC  PGM=ICEMAN
//SYSOUT    DD  SYSOUT=*
//SORTIN DD *
DUMMY
/*
//SORTOUT DD DSN=...  output file (VB/18)
//SYSIN    DD    *
  OPTION COPY
  INREC BUILD=(DATE1,TIME1)
  OUTFIL FTOV
/*
