Dear Admins,
I am trying to delete user datasets to resolve the VTOC space issues.
I am able to delete the ids but they are not removed completely thus occupying the VTOC space. When I try to delete, get the following error:
Dataset not partitioned or cataloged.
When I try to move it another volume, I get following error message
DATA SET WAS NOT PROCESSED BECAUSE IT IS SMS-MANAGED BUT IT IS NOT CATALOGED IN THE STANDARD ORDER OF SEARCH
Kindly help |

What did you use to try to delete the dataset originally ?
What error / informational messages were output from that ?
What is an ids ?
What do you really mean, a space error due to a ridiculously underallocated VTOC, or that the volume is filling up but the VTOC is fine ? Possibly a VTOCIX issue. Please clarify EXACTLY what your problem is as resolutions for each case are totally different.
The error msssage posted in your thread obviously gad an error code with it. Did you bother to look this up and see what it said ? What was it. |

ids might mean (ID)entification(S) or high level qualifying (ID)entifier(S). |

I guess that the TS deleted some tso users,
in the process deleted the aliases before deleting the leftover datasets
without the alias, the dataset even if properly cataloged in a user catalog
look as uncataloged
just redefine the aliases and You should be able to clean up everything |
