exists any function to turn very small letters into capital letters?

You can use UPPERCASE function.

or the string/char with a blanks/blank x'40'

I have tried with uppercase and the compilation says to me that it is not a function builtin

there are some minimal levels of pli and le for it to work...

You can use Translate in that case.

TRANSLATE( x,
'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ',
'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz' )
