Hi,
What is "slot size" in DASD? In our shop the value is 1 slot = 275 cyls. And they represent free space in terms of slots in SMS managed DB2 stogroups. But I have no idea what is the significance of number 275.
Any idea what it means or where can I find more details?
Thanks in advance. |

Or the person that invented the measurement. Must admit, 30+ years of IBM mainframe and I have never heard of a DASD slot before. Maybe it is a charging unit, but whatever it is ............. it sounds remarkably site specific to me. |
