I believe that JEM is the name of an ISPF Edit Macro that invokes the ASG-JOB/SCANĀ® from ASG Software Solutions. You'll probably have to ask them, but my guess is that JEM is an acronym for Job/Scan Edit Macro.

As Kevin suggests, you should talk with the vendor.

Hi,

You can try searching the "definition" of JEM under ISRDDN. On command line type TSO ISRDDN, then MEM JEM. It'll show you the PDS which contains the source code for JEM, browse it.

JEM is essentially a JCL syntax checker, main difference between JEM & JSCAN is - you can JEM multiple JOBs at the same time but JSCAN would allow only one scan at a time.

JEM too comes with version numbers based on the release, as other third party tools come, e.g.: JEM 6.2.7A.
