Hi,
I have a problem with Compilation in Changeman 5.5.1.
I am working on certain programs and I get to bypass the RC=8 in Link Edit [This is expected and we want to bypass this]. I am able to overirde the condition parameter to get the load module created, but the compilation process doesn't make the component active.
I am not sure that make the component ACTIVE and pass through the Freeze, Approve & Audit.
Please help me out!!!

Hello Boopathy and welcome to the forum,
Suggest you talk with your Changeman admin people for a "standard" resolution for your system. |

I am actually working on changing the Skels in Changeman to get this issue solved. We have certain components where RC=8 is expected in Link Edit [compile will go through fine].
Right now, I have created new set of Skels by replicating the existing one such that we use this procedure only for these programs. As of now, I am able to go through SUCCESS [by making changes to this COND], but the I couldn't stop the FAILURE step being executed because I have my RC=8.

Hello,
If the 8 is OK, could the FAILURE step condition code check be modified to permit the rc=8 in the sep where it is ok?
Are there both "good" and "bad" reasons for an rc=8 in that step? |

1. there is a series of step that will be performed. Initially, it was SUCCESS step that will be performed if previous RC=0. Then, the FAILURE step will be bypassed based on the RC=0 of SUCCESS step.
All these steps will be formed from various Changeman Skels.
In my situation, at the time when I posted the Query here, I couldn't find the Skels & possibilities to override RC=8. Then I was able to find Skels that had SUCCESS step and made the possible to get the Load Module created. But still the MAXCC=8 for this job and because of which FAILURE step was also executing. I couldn't find the SKELS for this step in any of our SKELS library.
Just now, I was able to find the skels for FAILURE in Changeman SKELS library provided by Serena and used it in our library and now able to skip FAILURE in our case.
2. Now my intention is to run SUCCESS step to create the load module and skip FAILURE step in order to make the component active in my package so that I can approve the package and install it.
Thanks for all your time and suggestion provided.
May be my details will provide few information for those who might face this issue in future.
