Hi,
Whenever we include a new step in our job, there may be a new dataset that we may be creating and its quite possible that we may need new GDG version, as an output instead of a Flat file, so for the first time we need to create the GDG base. This can be done easily in the Test environment, but in the Production Environment we do as follows
We go to the Vendor/User option in the 'ISPF Primary Option'on Menu', there we have User panels. in that we can create new Production GDG by Queuing the request for it.
What i wanted to know is that which is the JOB/JCL that runs at the backend which is used to do such operations?
Could anyone provide me with the information or some link to that Job? |

Yes, this does look site specific by submitting a tailored job, but it is almost certain to be an IDCAMS DEFINE GDG which you can find in the VSAM manual by using the IBM manuals button at the top of the page to look at this in more detail. |

Look like Your staff has customized thru ISPF dialogs and panels
many common tasks,
since we do not know anything about Your shop' s organization,
we cannot point you anywhere
if you are interested on how to define a gdg base search the forum
or the manuals ( link at top of the page )
the AMS manual, the jcl guide and the jcl reference
contains all You want/need to know |

Yes, this is among one of those other factors which keep on changing across shops..
BTW, Which Version control Tool do you use at your shop, in Change Man they provide such a facility to create GDGs Bases..they follow a general format usually. |
