getting the nth power's value

hai. can some one clarify me how to get nth power of a no; i.e; how to find square or square root of a no in cobol -74 and 85...

hi

In cobol its possible to use the syntax

value1 ** value2.

i.e 10**5 (ten to the power of five).

hoping it works
