Hello,
You need to talk with your dba or project lead for guidance on how this is done on your system. The result is basically the same from site to site, but the methods used vary greatly.
For guidance on how to maintain a table on your system, you need guidance from someone who does this on your system, not the forum. |

Yes. The steps to change producton for your system will be known by your dba. That is who you should ask.
Most simply said, the changes are made to the development/test environment. Everything affected is completely tested/accepted at that level.
The modifications (database/code/etc) are promoted to the next level (user acceptance/qa/production - however your system is configured) as prescribed by the "rules of the house".
The database support people should know all of the specifics as to which environments are involved, which particular utilitiies are used, etc. |
