As the fine manual states clearly, CLIST is an interpretive language (as opposed to compiled).

If you were paid to develope a tool for the company, why do you think it is appropriate to hide the code? |

You can compile rexx programs, but not CLISTs.
Or you could use other hi-level languages to write your ISPF programs. |
