Hi,

In a CICS - COBOL program, How to retrieve number of records in VSAM file (count) with out reading the file? OR How to retrieve the amount of space allocated to a VSAM file?

A 3rd-Party product like TMON can give you the number of records dynamically.

To view VSAM Space allocation for a given file (amongst many other features), I highly recommend a product named C\TREK ( www.ctrekcorp.com ), by Eugene Hudders.

BTW, that's NOT Gene featured on the Website. icon_wink.gif
