You won't be able to modify the code.... That's the difference
All you can do is you can call it from any module which is in modify mode along with the one in access mode.
You'll take a code in access mode when you need to call that particular AB or Procstep from another AB or Procstep.
Have I cleared your doubt or confused? |

Hi Bharath,
It is not clear to me. As you said we can not modify the code in access mode, that we can do with read mode also.
If possible plz give me some more clear picture about this.
Thank you

Suppose you have a change in PstepA. There is a CAB1 being used in it. There is another CAB2 which is not being used in PstepA. Your requirement is to call CAB2 in PstepA. If you download PstepA in Modify default mode, You'll get CAB1 in Access mode. If you download in Modify Full mode you'll get CAB1 also in Modify mode.
But if you do not download CAB2 along with PstepA, you won't be able to call it.
If you download CAB2 in read mode along with PstepA in modify mode also you won't be able to call CAB2. You can only analyze and admire the code written in CAB2.
For this requirement, you'll have to download CAB2 in Access mode.
I hope my words are more clear now. |

Another one addded to make this link look Perfect.....
If you want to delete some of the views that are used in a particular Pstep or a CAB, you cannot do that with Modify authority. You need to take that in Delete mode.
When an element is taken in delete mode, nobody else can take that in Access mode or Modify mode. It can only be taken in Read mode.
So taking in delete mode can affect a lot of other users. A best practise is to decide whether you need it in delete mode or not. If it is very much necessary, upload and override it as soon as you don't need it in delete mode. You can again take that back in Modify mode to continue coding. |
