Hi,
I want to create a duplicate table, which must have all the attributes & datatypes of another table except the table name. New table name i will be specifying.
I want to know how to do it using platinum tool, which is what i am using.
There are strategy's here, i was given training on only one strategy that is ALTERATION STRATEGY, i can only alter a table. I think.
Can a new table be created by using alteration strategy ?
I browsed RC/QUERY and went to that table. And type'd CREATE and pressed enter. The next screen was "CA - Table Create". There you can create a new table there, i mean, i have to type in all the column name & data types all the rest of the details. In that case i have to type in nearly 250 column names & details.
HELP ME. |

What We usually do in our shop to create a table using Platinum is we will create the DDL . Then create a strategy for the particular table using Platinum .Will do a Analysis using the platinum tool and Finally the analysed member which contains the DDL will be applied to a particular region .
Since you want to create a table with same characterstics of the one which exists. You can directly get DDL using the Platinum tool. After getting the DDL just change the table name and apply it in your test region |

"Shop", "Site" etc. are loosly/usually used for the Mainframe "machine" you work on as an employee..
In simple wordings, your Mainframe is "different " than mine in many ways (e.g. system storage rules.. ), to differentiate among all such Mainframes "shop" word is usually used .. |
