could any one tell me how to find out the vol ser using the storage group?

Probably not. A big advantage of storage groups is that you do not need to know volsers. The storage admins can move volumes between groups and add volsers as needed transparently.
You can find the volser for a particular dataset easily. Might that be what you are looking for?
Maybe i misunderstand what you are looking for. |

No dick scherrer. Actually I was trying to locate the in which volser the tablespace is existing.I think i was wrong and in looking like that, as DB has its own storage group. Anyways, thanks for your response. |

If it is not SMS managed, then you can see the list of volsers in SYSVOLUMES catalog table. |
