Unless IBM start using some other name for COBOL... icon_razz.gif

Well, how about this..

what is so special about this COBOL program without actually compiling it?
Code:
IDENTIFICATION DIVISION.
PROGRAM-ID. ERRMSG.
GO BACK.

There are many more to follow..

Hi,

We will not be able to compile the pgm as this is not the valid paragraph name/also if we have to code GOBACK it shld start at area B.

Actually, the GO BACK is not required. The program can be compiled with just the first two lines. This is a special program compilation that generates all COBOL error messages (obviously with symbolics where substitutions occur in the actual error messages). It does not generate an executable program.
