Am going to copy a VSAM file to the TAPE dataset using ADRDSSU(DUMP). Is there any parameter to use so that the CPU TIME will be less. |

Afraid not, but if your shop has FAVER (PGM= GVEXPORT and PGM=GVRESTOR) then use that instead. It is so much faster and easier to use with VSAM.
Also use SPHERE if you want to dump any associated AIX and PATH resource with the base cluster. |

How was it determined that too much cpu time is being used?
Have you tried using your sort product to copy this file? |

hi,
while using SORT utility it is taking more time when compared with ADRDSSU utility. I want to reduce the CPU usage TIME further by using any other parameter in ADRDSSU utility. |

Hello,
You mention that sort took more cpu.
Please post your jcl and sort control info for the run that used more cpu.
If you set up sort properly to make a copy of a vsam file, i would expect it to use less cpu. . . |
