I want to copy VSAM file from prod to test region. In test we have to define the file first. I tried defining it through file Manager catalog services. But failed. Can anyone help me out?

sorry, but the only help we can give You is ....
ask Your support, ask Your peers,
look at Your organization standards for such a task,
look at the manual, hit the pf1 key, ....

without telling the error, nothing more we can do for You

Look at IDCAMS EXPORT / IMPORT it will take the file definition with the copy.

Although I would have defined it with IDCAMS myself.

Sorry. The error while trying to define the file using 'file manager' is 'Volume list not defined'.

I rather hope that you might be able to read the VSAm / IDCAMS manual yourself for that, and the same will help you with your post following this one.
