"ARC1007I RECOVER REQUEST 00000000 SENT TO DFSMSHSM"

Can some one tell me how much time it will take to recover.

DO NOT
start a new topic inside an existing thread !

How long will it take ?
Please answer the following......................
What is the HSM maxtape parameter.
How many tape drives are currently available
How many of those available are in use
Are you getting any unit allocation recovery messages at this time
What type of tape media are you using
Where is the required file relative to the start of the tape.
What is the file size to be recovered

How long will it take ............. as long as it takes is the most accurate estimate that I will be able to give.

Hi,

I suppose it also depends on how many other recalls have been made and the function is active.

I would like to ask, is it for learning ? As an application engg. I was never botherd about for this.

At my shop, there are two type of migration level, I know about - MIGRAT1 & MIGRAT2. And they are called as Level-1 & Level-2 migration. There is a command, MIGRATE(days), is used to migrate eligible data sets from a level 0 volume to a level 1 or tape level 2 volume based on their inactivity in "days" days. "days" ranges from 0 to 999.

This is an infomatory type message, for which Application Programmer Response should be None.
