I have some questions regarding the reports prepared by DBA for DB2 database. DBA prepares reports like ERROR & EXCEPTION reports for all the DB2 subsystems (development, warehouse, production) & PDASTATS reports (ImageCopy & Extents).
My question is:
1. What is the purpose of each of these reports?
2. By looking at these reports what can be done in the future?
3. How do these reports help to resolve something?
4. What are the other kind of reports that DBA's prepare? |

Hello and welcome to the forums,
I suggest you talk with your dba(s).
They can tell you exactly what reports they produce and how they use these reports. |

Susanth,
These reports help DBAs get to know on whats going on in the system and what can be done to make the system function better.
e.g. DBAs can generate a report on to enlist all the tablespaces/databases that is not being backed up on a regular basis. Based on the report they would ask application support team to schedule this activity (or make it more frequent, if one exists already).
