Hi,
I am a developer on mainframes and I got a notification from my Db2 support team that they are planning for an upgrade to our development environment early September this year. They (Db2 team) plan to move into Db2 v9 compatibility mode initially for 3 weeks and once everything looks fine in dev. environment, the support team would upgrade the production environment.
In their notification, they strongly recommend testing for our applications. In my application, I have only 2 Db2 tables on which the COBOL programs do read, insert, update and delete operations. I am not able to ascertain whether or not my application is affected by this upgrade.
I tried to read some material on IBM's information center, and could not still determine the impact. Is there any approach, which I can follow to :
1. determine whether or not the application is impacted due to the udgrade
PS: IBM Info Center Link:
publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/dzichelp/v2r2/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.db29.doc.inst/db2z_convertcm2enfm.htm
Please advice on what should be my approach.
Thanks,
Sid. |
