You have icon_smile.gif

Yup, Mine does something similar. . . I'm sure there's a "rule", but i've not worked to quantify it.

General rule, if item remains in outbox, a space violation has occured, most common violation, 'mailbox' is full.
Delete unneeded items in mailbox, empty deleted items trash folder, then 'send' the outbox item. That could fix the issue.

Are the suggestions equally applicable to the PM facility of this site, I think they are more useful for other mail services such as Microsoft Outlook ..

I have the impression that the problem might be on the receiver' s side
a message gets on the sent mailbox after it gets stored in the receiver' s inbox

very little we can do on the sender' s side

I still believe, it has nothing to do with the outlook software.

I just compred the Microsot Outlook working with the options suggested by Mike. So yes, this

is true, but I didn't understand why did you ask/said the above ?

I'm rather habitual of using Outlook & used these options in that, they work there pretty good; lately I had enough conversatios using PM facility of this forum but there are very few messags I've in my "sentbox".. so was little skeptical about their functionality in the PM facility, might be there are some settings to be done from my end..
