I have a requirement to develop a process that will take backup of entire CA Library daily after end of each business days.

My Client uses ELIPS CA Librarian.

Hello,

Create a job that creates the required backup. These backups are often created using a gdg, so you would need to define a new gdg base.

Once you have the gdg base defined and test your backup jcl (if you do not verify the backed up contents can be used, you do not have a backup), talk with the system scheduling people to have your backup job added to the schedule to be run every night.

Is it possible for you to provide a sample of such job.

Because this is backup of CA Librarian ELIPS , so will there be any difference from how we do backup for a normal PDS.

No, we don't have the same environment.

I'd suggest you look in the documentation (how to make a backup will be there) or talk with the support people for your system. They should already have other librarian backup jobs and your should follow the same type of process.

If necessary, you could open an issue with CA support and they can provide help.

CA librarian has its own backup / restore / recovery procedures which are all documented.

Check with your storage management people, it is very possible that a backup is already being done.

ELIPS is how you get to the Librarian file, not the actual file. The file is not a normal PDS (if in AFO format) and should only be backed up and restored using the Librarian procedures in the CA-Librarian System Services manual.
