Hi,
I want to prepare a sortcard to check for a field(alphanumeric) if it numeric or not.
if numeric i want to move the value of that field to another field in the same record and space out existing filed(which was numeric).

You haven't given enough information for anyone to help you. Show an example of your input records (relevant fields only) and what you expect for output. Explain the "rules" for getting from input to output. Give the starting position, length and format of all relevant fields. Give the RECFM and LRECL of the input file.
