Hi All,
I am trying to merge 5 files together to get one output file. But everytime, I try to execute the job, the job is abending with S1D8 abend.
Can any one please help me out by giving me some more bits of informations regarding what is the error about and how can I execute my job? |

Take a look in the CA-1 messages and codes book.
IEFTMSxx messages are not standard IBM, but CA-1 messages. Hopefully you might now grasp the importance of stating the message code as well as the abend code when posting. |

what do Your storage support people say?
did You look at the ieftms50 message
are they ( Your storage support people ) aware that there are add on products which predate system codes left temporarily free by IBM
and must be researched in th product manual and not in the standard IBM doc |

| When I searched for the message code IEFTMS50 1D8, I found that the code corressponds to something that staes "IPL Required, Contact the Tape Librarian" |

remember we do not know anything about You environment
( hardware,software,...)
and there is very little we can do from where we sit  |

I hope Your storage support has a tape library to re_IPL/re_Initialize
Usually for these messages,
the problem should have been already reported by message automation with a high priority warning
You should not have been the only one to get it |
