It's majorily the space abend.

check the for the datasets using/targetting and look the size of the input/output datasets..

has the procedure been running for some time already, or it is still in it' s
early stages of deployment?

these abends in an established procedure are usually the result of poor planning...
what is the trend of data growth in Your organization...

analyze it and You/Your storage people will be able to forecast space allocation and additional volume requirements
and carry on the appropriate changes as needed

it' s too late maybe, but DCOLLECT and SMF anaisys at periodic intervals will provide all these info

Hi !

>> is there any standard procedure available ? -> Yes !!!

Third party product: STOP X37. I think, now called ProSMS, or includes in that product. I remember it was produced from DTS Software.

Thanks,

Unfortunately in our system we don't have this third party tool, please tell me how to calculate SPACE parameter (how much need to increase prim and Sec) to fix SB37 in production job.

has the job ever run correctly ??

look at the working input and output allocation

look at the failing input allocations and calculate the output allocation accordingly...

rough math on
old_input_alloc : old_output_alloc = failing_input_alloc : new_output_alloc

Before anyone can tell you how to calculate a new space parameter, you need to know why there was not enough space.

Is this possibly because that pool of dasd needs more space allocated to it? Your space may be correct, but the file system is out of space.

Does this file grow over time? How much does it grow each week/month? Is there purge criteria for the file or will it grow forever?

Is this an abnormal run that abended due to some spike in volume and is only going to happen very rarely?

somehow i think there is a possibility to suspend or stop you application for a while. I don't know whether this dataset is used by database or other tool, but in case of databases there is possibility to suspend while system is not overload. Other case is to wait for the maintaince time, then create bigger dataset or you can change name of dataset and create new one.

But it all depends. In which way your dataset is used ?

Huh ??? What's that got to do with the price of fish ???
Where in the thread has the OP mentioned that the failed DSN was PDS ?

Does SMS allocate this as single vol or multi vol ? Can yo talk to storage and see if they can help if you need to be multi vol. HAve you tried to allocate across multi vol in the JCL.

See comments by Dick & Enrico, and respond to thim.
