Hypothetical situation where 20 software executives board an airplane and are told that the flight that they are about to take is the first-ever to feature pilotless technology: It is an uncrewed aircraft. Each one of the CEOs is then told, privately, that their company's software is running the aircraft's automatic pilot system.

Nineteen of the CEOs promptly leave the aircraft, each offering a different type of excuse. One CEO alone remains on board the jet, seeming very calm indeed. Asked why he is so confident in this first uncrewed flight, he replies: "If it's the same software that runs my company's IT systems, this plane won't even take off."

This is called Confidence!

Real-world stuff:

The design engineers who work for the Sikorsky Aircraft division of United Technologies (manufacturer of helicopters such as the Blackhawk and Seahawk) are required to accompany the test pilots on all of the test flights. To the best of my knowledge, there has never been a failure or incident in any test flights.

About Sikorsky Aircraft division, they are also familiar for Turbo train. It is the only non-electrified intercity passenger train to reach operational status in the United States in the Past 15 years.Powered by aircraft-type gas turbine engines, it was designed to provide comfortable, high performance service on existing railroad trackage and a pendulous banking suspension system(superb creation!!).
