If a job is defined as 'JOB MARKED AS EXEC=NO' in Ca7 than what will be the process for below jobs?

If A job triggers B job and B triggers C. B is defined as 'JOB MARKED AS EXEC=NO ' in CA7. B is the successor job of D. so what will happen once A trigger B? Will job B wait for D to be completed? or Will it neglect the successful compeletion of D and it trigger C?

Thanks in advance

Richa,
First of all if EXEC=N means that job is not going to run as it suppose to be while EXEC=Y.

secondly, job B runs depends on two jobs as per your message. Job A & JobD. Did you set the dependency of job b ? am not clear of your requirement

Thanks for your reply

My concern is on the execution of job C. Job B is using one file with is created by job D. If job D gets delayed, will job B also delayed?

If EXEC=N means that job is not going to run than will the job B wait for the requirements (job D) to be completed or will it trigger job C without reuirements (job D)?

EXEC=N given to JOB B in CA7 scheduler means irrespective of any dependency this job is not going to run in CA7.

so it doesn't matter whether Job D runs/delays

secondly, if job B is the only trigger of JOB C, then I don't think even job C will also gets trigger. It's been long time i use CA7. pls check in this forum/manual..

Please be aware of your facts before answering a thread !!!

EXEC=N means that the job will not be submitted for processing, but CA7 will treat the job as a successful completion so that any dependencies or triggering will be honoured.
