I am getting s0c1 Error while executing First Db2 statement in Cobol Db2 program. This is a Simple Db2 program that Updates/inserts into a Db2 table based on Records fetched from the other table; and there are No files used. I have attached the Execution JCL and SPool output here.

Execution JCL :

//STEP0050 EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01,
// DYNAMNBR=20,
// REGION=4M
//SYSOUT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//RTLOUT DD SYSOUT=*
//REPORT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSTSPRT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSABOUT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSABEND DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSUDUMP DD SYSOUT=*
//CEEDUMP DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSIN DD SYSOUT=*
//*YSTSIN DD DSN=NAS.TEST.CARDLIB(EH858300),DISP=SHR
//SYSTSIN DD *
DSN SYSTEM(DB2B)
RUN PROGRAM(UPDNPIEH) PLAN(NASEHRB) -
LIB('NAS.REL.LOADLIB')
END
//*

I have put some DISPLAY statements in program. As soon as the Control goes to the First EXEC SQL statement ( which is OPEN CURSOR), it gives this 0c1 Error :

CEE3201S The system detected an operation exception (System Completion Code=0C1)
From compile unit UPDNPIEH at entry point UPDNPIEH.

The similar Execution JCL worked for the Prod Region; whereas it is failing with this Error into the Development Region.

Please let me know, if anyone can provide some Solution or inputs.
thanks!!

Hello,

You might look thoroughly thru all of the sysout from the run. There may be some other diagnostic information in another sysout dataset.

Is the same load module used in development as production or is the code re-compiled and/or re-linked when promoted? I'd check the compile(s) and link(s) for any warnings.

Are you able to successfully complie & run some other "simple" db2 program in development? Using the same compile/link jcl? Hopefully, this is standard, but sometimes, there is uncontrolled jcl in use.

As you Correctly hinted , I was using a Wrong Compile-Bind JCL for my Program in the Development region compared with the Correct one in Production. Thanks a lot for your valuable advice!! icon_biggrin.gif
