I was studying ICETOOL/DFSORT for this ,I executed a simple JCL for selecting few records from a file and dropping the dupes using ICETOOL .
but when i had got my results at SDSF i found out it was synsort (SYNCSORT FOR Z/OS 1.2.2.2RI) which did the work. i find both DFSORT and SYNCSORT installed, but dont know how the JCL picks up synsort. |

| IMO it depends on the installation. when you say PGM=SORT it picks either DFSORT or SYNCSORT based on the installation in your shop. |
