| Using command code D, we can retrieve parent and child at the same time, but is there any disadvantage of using this command code in terms of processing time and cpu utilization. |

| George - I am going to add a caution. If you are using pre-defined IO areas - such as copy books - make sure that they are exact. Many set up copybooks with filler at the end. If you then copy this into a concatenated IO area with the child segment following, you will be misaligned. |
