Both are same, if u observe number of segment of same type, (means SEGMENT behind no of segments in terms chart diagram).

The very next segment is the first occurence of the segment and next one is second occurence of segment and follows.

Generally we call TWINS to those two things of same kind physically or of behaviour, but here in IMS/DB, more than two occurence of the segment is also called as TWINS.[/img]

Hello,

To identify the if there are 15 occurence in one segment for that also we call it as TWINS.

it is a methodology to identify the architecture.

For example:-

For all the Architecture of pentium processor there is a identification word to identify the particular processor and find the particular configuration
.

thats on example i can give you, that's out of topic, but opinion differs.

Hello Samba,

I am assuming that you are either looking at a PSB or DBD definition. You are seeing 2 different segment types under the same parent - correct? They are both children of that parent. They are not twins. For instance, let have a STUDENT parent with 2 CHILD segment TYPES defined - one is for TUTOR and one is for COURSE. They are on the same level. Each could occur multiple times - then the multiples would be twins. If you are going after only the TUTOR segments, adjust your call SSA to be a qualified SSA for the parent STUDENT and unqualified for the TUTOR segment. You will then NOT retrieve any COURSE segments.
