When I try deleting a Tape file using IDCAMS utility I got return code of 8 and reason code - IGG0CLEG-42 in SYSPRINT; whereas CA07RMS report shows that the file got deleted successfully with condition code of 0.
Here are my questions:
1. My job has only the IDCAMS step to delete a file. From where does the CA07RMS report came in picture?
2. Why the CA07RMS report', condition code is 0 and the CC for the IDCAMS step is 8? |

Do you have condition code checking switched on within CA7 for that particular job ? |

Hi MGayathri,
I hope you restarted the job from CA7 using CA11 product. If you don't specify the step name with acceptable condition code in CA7 it will take CA07RMF as default step. So CA07RMF came in your JCL. |

Hi Srisri
Thanks for the information, but I have not restarted the job; Yet for the CA07RMS report the CC was 0 (stating the dataset was deleted/ uncataloged successfully) and for the IDCAMS step it was 8.
What is the reason code IGG0CLEG-42 all about? |

Hi Gayathri,
In general you will get this message IGG0CLEG-42 while deleting VSAM dataset which is not found.
Can you copy the JCL which you are trying to executing? |
