Hi .. in production the new copy has been done for some online components.. but just to have a cross-check i need to ensure that new copy is done or not... we are not having the access to CEMT in production.. is there anyway to check if the new copy has been done successfully or not before code is being used in production.

the person/group is in charge of issuing the newcopy should be also responsible of checking the result...
otherwise it will result in an endless loop of telephone calls and/or emails..

like...
/HUMOR ON
a You
b the support

a...please issue a new copy for ...
DONE_IT
b... ok I did it
.. some checking
a... no it went wrong , please retry it
goto DONE_IT

I suspect that if the newcopy failed, there would be some error - always has been when i've had problems with a newcopy.

If there is no error, the newcopy was successful?

Is this in response to some one-time problem? If so, i would not recommend implementing something to "detect" it. If this has happened multiple times, i'd suggest reviewing the process and remove the problem(s). None of the sites that i've supported have routines to come behind their newcopy process to make sure it worked. . .

Its hard to digest that, any operation is performed ..that is changing the active code in production, and we are unable to verify which version of code is active....!!! I guess there should be some logs/spool where we can find the activities performed in that region.

This is not related to any recurring problem, but once we faced such problem where we were not sure if new copy has been done successfully or not , and requested for doing it again and it worked fine...!!!

This is not the same question that was asked originally. There are multiple ways to verify which code is currently running. . .

If at any time you want to check if the program running is the right one, you should ask your CICS system programmer to confirm which module is executing - they do have access to the CEMT transaction. Again, this should be quite rare.
